| Arthur R. Culver, former Area Superintendent of Fort Bend ISD, is the new superintendent of the Longview Independent School District. He replaces Dr. R.L. McMichael who left the district to become Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Accountability at the Texas Education Agency. Culver has knowledge and experience with a large school district and was the Board's number one choice of four candidates presented to the Board by a superintendent search firm. Culver will assume his duties March 1, 1999. |
