Marshall is experiencing a major rebirth in its medical community. The source of this rebirth can be attributed to new physicians, new healthcare providers and leaders, renovations and construction, and the establishment of new medical services.

Providing health care for this 80,000+ population service area, which includes Marshall and surrounding communities, is Marshall Regional Medical Center. This acute care hospital, located in the central business district, is a non-profit private corporation that was originally established in 1909.

Currently boasting 141 licensed beds, the hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and provides services for emergencies, and outpatient and inpatient medical care.

An active medical staff provides excellent medical care in all areas of primary care medicine including the following:
Marshall Regional Medical Center is currently undergoing several major renovaton and construction projects, among them the addition of a $3.6 million-dollar medical building, and the renovatoin of a former strip center into a Medical Center Plaza.

During the past 3 years, nine (9) new physicians have joined the medical staff with plans by the hospital to recruit additional primary care doctors for the next several years.

In addition to the local medical facilities, Marshall is located directly between two large metropolitan areas serviced by no less than 5 major medical centers. Three reside in Shreveport, Louisiana (30 miles east on Interstate 20):
