Are there opportunities for parent involvement?

Both the U. S. Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency have commended the quality of community involvement in the Pine Tree ISD. A paid Volunteer Coordinator supervises the training and placement of volunteers, who contribute an average of 11,000 hours per year. Parents serve on multiple decision-making committees at the campus and district level.

PTA units support each of the seven campuses with time, funding, and parent training. The district PTA has won the state Mary Ann Leveridge award three times for quality parent education programs.

Pine Tree ISD is a charter member of GLOBE (Greater Longview Organization of Business and Education). Pine Tree staff and community members volunteer for projects like the GLOBE Scholars banquet where seniors from ten area schools are honored for completing a challenging curriculum.
